Tecolote Auxiliary and the La Madera Fire Station

Memorial Day Celebration Parade

The Memorial Day Parade was held to celebrate the success of the tremendous community effort to communicate to the Sandoval County Commissioners, BC commissioner, BC Fire Chief, State elected officials, and the State Fire Marshall’s office our determination to retain our Volunteer Fire Fighters in our community and not have our safety assigned to Bernalillo County. We could not envision nor accept the proposed demise of the LMVFD. They acknowledged our concerns and refused to discuss the proposal. Our mission now is to support Chief Gober as he works with SC Chief Masterson to work out the district’s operational plan going forward.

The outpouring of support as the parade travelled through SPCE and La Madera was tremendous. Thank you! Thank you!

Additional photos of the parade can be found on the Events Page and also will be stored on the Pictures Page.

THE LMVFD CHIPPING PROJECT was a great success this year, with a large increase in the number of participants removing brush
from their lots and helping with the process. The fire department looks forward to another event next year.
