In May 2022, quilt artists Kathi Henderson and Bonnie Aker of Quilts for Service presented a custom hand-made quilt to Chief Joe Gober. This gift was to honor the La Madera Volunteer Fire Department for their years of community service and for setting an example of volunteerism at its best.
